Tank’s Green & Clean

A new non-profit under Tank’s Green Stuff

Community engagement, outreach, and volunteerism have been important to the focus of Tank’s Green Stuff since the beginning. Now, we are happy to announce the arrival of Tank’s Green & Clean – a registered 501(c)(3) that formalizes the continuation of Tank’s history of generosity to the Tucson community.

“Tank’s Green Stuff provides ongoing resources and education through compost exhibits, compost donations, community clean-ups, building community gardens, and more. As a registered nonprofit, TANK’S GREEN&CLEAN’s goal is to raise donations to support even more Tucson organizations in need.

Gardening brings communities together, creates a lifelong passion, beautifies spaces, cleans the environment, produces food, protects our soil, enhances mental health, and more. But, even the smallest garden needs good soil and a seed to get started.

Our goal is to raise money under TANK’S GREEN&CLEAN so that we can grow the support we have always provided. Soon you will be able to visit https://tanksgreenstuff.com and donate through the TANK’S GREEN&CLEAN page or find out ways to volunteer and get dirty with TANKS!”

– Staci Stompoly, Tank’s Green & Clean

Facilitated by Tank’s Green & Clean, Tank’s donates:

Compost

Roll-off use, drop-off and haul-away

Mulch

Fill dirt

Planting soil

Raised planter beds

Gardening labor and know how

Education

And much more..

“Cue music! A catchy dance! And overalls! Welcome to the Tank’s Green Stuff TikTok page… a Tucsonian landscape composting company that has a loyal fanbase. Through their social channels, they share composting fun facts, tips, and gardening ideas with their followers. For food waste, the University of Arizona Compost Cats works to increase composting accessibility to community members. While they take different approaches, both groups have the same goal– to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from landfills.” – Arizona Illustrated, Season 8, Episode 813

Independent Analysis of Tank’s Green Stuff Compost

To provide our prospective and current clients with a high level of understanding, assurance, and trust, Tank’s Green Stuff requested a Certified Crop Adviser (Diaz Agriculture) conduct a complete analysis of its organic compost. The results are available for you, below. Please contact Tank’s with any questions about our process, lab testing, and recommendations for use/application guidelines. The staff at Tank’s will do its best to support all customers with their projects and goals, but makes no claim of being professional crop advisers. Please consider this information alongside your own soil testing, and seek the advice of a Certified Crop Adviser or Cooperative Extension Agent for interpretation, recommendations, and instruction for your soil management program. You will find a copy of the analysis report here.

Tank’s Green Stuff cares about supporting a healthy bat population!

Bring agave plants that have not yet bloomed (large flower spike that shoots up from the middle) to the Tank’s Speedway Recycling & Landfill Facility (7301 E. Speedway), and ask to place the plants in the designated Agave Rescue area. The plants will be picked up and replanted in our communities and landscape where they will be able to live the remainder of their lives and bloom (to support bats and other pollinators). lesser-long-nose-bat_origBats are Important: they control pests such as mosquitos and pollinate numerous plant species. Perhaps one of our favorite plants that they pollinate are agaves–which are used to make tequila, mezcal, and bacanora…! Save agave, save bats, and we can continue to enjoy our favorites regional beverages. Click here to learn more and view a printable flyer.

Tank’s Green Stuff Wins ‘Composter of the Year’ Award

Thank you, Edible Baja Arizona, for spreading the big news! Tank’s Green Stuff 100% Organic Compost is honored to be named the “Composter of the Year” by the US Composting Council. Though incredibly honored by such a prestigious award, we do what we do because we love it: making organic compost for gardeners and farmers near and far is challenging, dirty work. Recycling almost 100,000 tons of green debris each year makes a big impact in our community and to our planet.
